Cedar Road Resurfacing Project Nearing Completion
The $4 million, months-long project is expected to wrap-up next month.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β In a newsletter to the community, the city of Cleveland Heights said the Cedar-Fairmount resurfacing project is nearing completion. The project began in late March of 2017 and cost about $4 million. Construction is expected to be finished Oct. 30.
The construction project started March 22 with a resurfacing of the 2.2 miles of Cedar Road between Taylor Road and Euclid Heights Boulevard. The city also made ADA compliance upgrades at that time. Part two of the project included a streetscape within the Cedar-Fairmount business district, including new sidewalks, new landscaping, new benches, bike racks, trash cans and decorative planters.
Part three of the project will be the final phase of construction. Crews will be resurfacing Cedar from Norfolk Road west to Euclid Heights Boulevard. Sidewalk construction will also be conducted on the north side of Cedar between Norfolk and the club Nighttown. The city noted in its newsletter that most of the funding for the project came from a Federal Surface Transportation Block Grant and Transportation Alternatives Fund. Some additional funding was provided by the Ohio Public Works Commission and the Ohio Department of Natural Resources.
