CH-UH Schools Raising $750K for Synthetic Turf at Crawford Stadium

District expects new turf, renovations to lead to money savings annually on upkeep

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District hopes to raise $750,000 to renovate Hosboro Field at Crawford Stadium.

Plans include replacing the stadium's natural grass with synthetic turf, which the district estimates will save $20,000 to $25,000 per year on maintenance costs.

The district also hopes to renovate the stadium's ticket booths, stands and restrooms.

The district hopes to get $200,000 from the National Football League and to raise the rest through its alumni and boosters.
