Christmas In Cleveland Heights: City Hall Closing, Ice Rink Hours

Plus, how will Christmas and New Year's Day impact trash collection?

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β€” Like the blink of an eye, December has flown by and Christmas will soon arrive in Cleveland Heights. On its heels will be New Year's Eve and the accompanying partying which will ring in 2020.

With the holidays close upon us, Cleveland Heights City Hall released a list of municipal closures that could impact residents' plans. Here's what will be shuttered on Dec. 24, Dec. 25 and Dec. 31 and Jan. 1.

On Christmas Eve, the Community Center will close at 11:45 a.m. Shortly thereafter, at noon, City Hall will close for the day.

On Christmas Day, all city buildings, including the Community Center, City Hall and Cleveland Heights Municipal Court, will be closed. Emergency services will remain open. Trash collection will be delayed one day following the holiday.

With Christmas landing on a Wednesday, that means residents who typically have their refuse collected on Wednesdays will instead have their trash collected on Thursdays. Thursday collection will be moved to Friday and Friday collection will happen Saturday.

On New Year's Eve, the city's ice rink will close at 1 p.m. The Community Center will close at 3:45 p.m.

On New Year's Day, all city buildings, including the Community Center, City Hall and Cleveland Heights Municipal Court, will be closed. Emergency services will remain open. Trash collection will be delayed one day following the holiday.

Trash collection will be delayed again, and will follow the same schedule as the Christmas delay. That means, Wednesday trash collection will happen Thursday, Thursday collection will happen Friday and Friday collection will happen Saturday.
