Cleveland Heights Announces Community Shredding Days

The city will hold two shredding days in 2017. The first event will be held June 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at City Hall.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - The city announced 2017's two shredding dates on its website last week. The Summer date will be held June 10 from 9 a.m. to noon at Cleveland Heights City Hall, 40 Severance Cir.

The city will hold a second shredding day in the Fall. That event will take place Sept. 10, a Sunday.

Residents should bring no more than 10 boxes for shredding, the city says. If you've never shredded documents before, you may be wondering why residents would want to take advantage of these services. THe answer is easy: privacy.

Financial documents, personal records, and other private communications make for prime shredding candidates. If you were to miss the Cleveland Heights shredding day, there are a bevy of local recycling companies that offer shredding services for a fee.

Typically, after a document is shredded, the pay-for-service companies will take the destroyed documents to a recycling facility.
