Cleveland Heights Considers 3 New Logos
As the city continues its re-branding, it wants resident feedback on which logo best tells the story of Cleveland Heights.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — The city of Cleveland Heights is considering three new logos — the latest chapter in the re-branding of the suburb.
City officials and a contracted firm relied on the feedback of more than 1,000 residents to craft a "brand story" for the city. With three new logo possibilities on tap, officials are trying to determine which logo best fits the new brand story. Now, the Brand Steering Committee again wants resident feedback.
This time, residents are being asked to recommend which logo will head to Cleveland Heights City Council for consideration. Two of the logos are outgrowths of the existing Cleveland Heights city logo, the third option is a wholly new image.

Over the next dozen days, the city will collect feedback and then consolidate it. The Brand Steering Committee will then deliberate before making a decision on which logo should be presented to City Council.

A city official told Patch the Steering Committee will meet again on April 2. The hope is that a logo will be recommended to City Council on either April 8 or April 15. That would allow the city to roll-out its new logo by the end of April.
"It is important to keep in mind that a community brand is not merely a tagline or logo. It is the essence, or spirit, of the community that makes it distinct," said Mary Trupo, director of communications and public engagement for the city. "A brand goes beyond artwork and advertising. It is the tone and shared language used to describe the city. How should potential residents, businesses or consumers view Cleveland Heights? What will make people take a first or second look? How does Cleveland Heights differentiate itself?"
