CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Cleveland Heights this week launched a new program to construct infill housing on city-controlled vacant properties.

The Neighborhood Redevelopment Program (NRP) is geared to bring increased investment, vibrancy, economic activity and new tax revenue to Cleveland Heights.

"We are excited to move forward with this transformative neighborhood redevelopment project," City Manager Susanna Niermann O'Neil said. "Housing is the city's highest priority and this project represents potential major new investment for Cleveland Heights and positions the city for additional growth and redevelopment in the future."

As part of the launch of the program, the city has released a request for proposals for the first phase of the program. The city wants to redevelop 42 vacant lots along Nelaview Road, Grreyton Road, Dresden Road, Hanover Drive and Desota Avenue.

"The potential for new residential construction in neighborhoods in close proximity to the Noble and Taylor Road Corridors could certainly be a game changer for our community," said Tim Boland, director of economic development. "The overall strong residential market locally makes this the right time to launch this program and make these lots available for redevelopment."
