Cleveland Heights Man Found Dead In Cleveland

Police said they found suspected heroin inside the man's pickup truck.

CLEVELAND — A 58-year-old Cleveland Heights man was found dead inside a truck parked in Cleveland on Wednesday morning. Police said they found a bag of suspected heroin inside the man's van.

At 1:30 a.m., a caller said a man appeared to be slumped over the steering wheel of a pickup truck parked on E. 112th Street. When officers arrived, EMS was trying to get into the man's Ford F150.

Medics soon got into the truck but the 58-year-old had no pulse. EMS connected the man to an EKG monitor, which showed no signs of life. The man was declared dead on the scene, according to a Cleveland police report obtained by Patch.

The man's family told police he had a history of drug use. Officers searched the pickup truck and found a small baggie of suspected heroin in the truck's center console.

The man's body was sent to the Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office to determine the cause of death.
