Cleveland Heights Mayor Ed Kelley Endorses Issue 81

Cleveland Heights Mayor Edward J. Kelley today endorsed Issue 81. Here's the text of the press release:

Cleveland Heights, Ohio - Cleveland Heights Mayor Edward J. Kelley has endorsed Issue 81, the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Proposed Bond Issue, to be used for the purpose of improving school district buildings and facilities. Phase One, funded by Issue 81, would ensure the complete renovation of Heights High School and Monticello and Roxboro Middle Schools.

“Our young people deserve the best education possible in modern, sustainable facilities. Issue 81 would give them modern classrooms and technology and science labs,” said Mayor Kelley. “Also, having energy-efficient buildings will save money.”

“It should also be noted that the passage of Issue 81 would create a number of construction jobs in our city,” said Kelley. “It would generate over $1 million in new income tax. In addition, the City would receive additional funds from permits and fees.”

“We have the best schools – public, parochial and private – in the area,” Kelley continued. “Our Cleveland Heights students deserve a safe, up-to-date, quality learning environment. I support the passage of Issue 81.”
