Cleveland Heights Police Arrest Suspect in Mr. Hero Shooting

Officers spotted him entering a Dollar General on Oct. 16 and were able to apprehend him.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - Cleveland Heights police have arrested a suspect in the Mr. Hero shooting that claimed the life of a 15-year-old. The department posted a statement on Facebook saying they spotted the suspect entering the Dollar General on Lee and East Overlook and were able to apprehend the man.

The shooting took place Oct. 14 at approximately 7:50 p.m. The police department began receiving 911 calls reporting a robbery and shots fired Mr. Hero, 1923 South Taylor Road. When officers arrived a 15-year-old with a gunshot wound was inside the restaurant. Paramedics attended to the juvenile and transported them to University Hospital, where he later succumbed to his wounds.

Police say that the suspect entered Mr. Hero intending to rob the restaurant. After entering the store he shot the 15-year-old in the head. The suspect then allegedly took money from the cash register and fled.
