Cleveland Heights Polls Busy but Lines Short

The 2016 general election has kept the Cleveland Heights polls hopping, but so far the system hasn't produced any slowdowns.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - The polls were hopping all morning long in the city. The Lee Road library branch saw a steady flow of people walking out with "I Voted" stickers and parents taking turns watching kids so one or the other could go cast their ballot.

Dejon Bobbie, 22, said this was his second election voting for a president and he was excited to participate. He used to live in Cleveland and he says the lines in Cleveland Heights were faster than he was used to. He was able to get in and out without many problems.

That said, Bobbie was asked to prove his residence. He moved to Cleveland Heights within the past 12 months and had not changed his address with the Board of Elections. After some haggling however, he was able cast his vote on the condition that he contact the BOE after he got home and produce evidence of his address.

"I voted for Hillary Clinton," he said. "My mom is really into politics and she keeps me informed on what's going on. She's voting for Clinton and I listen to my mom."

He wasn't the only person to get out and vote in the historically Democratic city. Other residents took to Twitter to announce their performance of their civic duty:
