Cleveland Heights Receives Donations Of Protective Equipment
Masks, gloves and sanitizer are in short supply during the coronavirus outbreak, so local groups are stepping up in the Heights.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β Boxes of masks and gloves were donated to the Cleveland Heights police and fire departments this week. The protective equipment, so crucial during the coronavirus outbreak, was gifted by Chaverim of Cleveland and Longwood Beauty Supply.
"Cleveland Heights is a truly amazing community with so many looking out for their neighbors, our local businesses and the city's first responders," a city spokesperson said.
On Thursday, Tzvi Turner, president of Chaverim of Cleveland, presented several boxes of masks and sanitizer wipes to Cleveland Heights officials. A city spokesperson said both items are used up quickly, so generating a reserve is crucial.

Paul Shim, who operates Longwood Beauty Supply, on Noble Road, donated 144 masks and six boxes of gloves to the city. With cities, counties, states and federal agencies competing for protective equipment, gloves and masks have been in short supply.
"Because these items are hard to come by, these generous donations are even more meaningful to our first responders. Thank you to both Mr. Paul Shim and Mr. Turner for their kind and generous donation, which will help keep our first responders safe and healthy," a city spokesperson told Patch in an email.
