Cleveland Heights School Gets Bomb Threat, Police Arrest Suspect
Heights High was swept by University Heights Police and no bomb was found.

UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, OH - A bomb threat made to Heights High School ended with a student suspect being arrested by police.
According to a statement from the school district, the bomb threat came via social media. University Heights Police were able to quickly locate the student that made the threat and take them into custody. However, police recommended students and staff evacuate the building in order for a sweep of the premises to occur.
Students and staff gathered in the parking garage by the Target shopping center or on the grass field behind the school at the corner of Bushnell and Wrenford. No students or staff were injured.

As a precaution, the district decided to issue an early dismissal for all Heights High students. The students were able to either walk home or be picked up at the Cleveland Heights Community Center at the corner of Monticello and Mayfield. THe district bused students to the Community Center for parental pick-up.
University Heights Police issued an all-clear on the building at 2:15 p.m. Students were able to enter the building beginning at 2:45 p.m. and retrieve their belongings. After-school activities will take place as normally scheduled.
