Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools Take on Mannequin Challenge

Several of the district's schools have picked up the viral sensation and created their own video.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - The mannequin challenge became a nationwide phenomenon in mid-October. It's your run-of-the-mill viral Internet challenge, a descendant of the Ice Bucket Challenge, Lip Dubs, Harlem Shaking, and whatever else the digital crank factory has churned out. This one features people posing as still as they can (hence, mannequin) while a camera swoops through the crowd of folks. Ultimately, the videos are silly and fun and give people a chance to goof around on-camera.

Several of the schools within the Cleveland Heights-University Heights district have taken up the challenge, creating short YouTube videos of themselves posing as mannequins. They join an illustrious group of Clevelanders to take part in the sensation, most notably the Cleveland Cavaliers, who convinced Michelle Obama and some White House staffers to freeze for a video.

The district has been sharing the videos on its YouTube channel and on its website, and we've gathered up most of the recent Mannequin Challenge videos and are compiling them for you.
