Cohen-Trump Tape: Cleveland Heights Pastor Mentioned On Recording
Pastor Darrell Scott was a vocal proponent of Donald Trump during the 2016 election. His name and viability are discussed on Cohen's tape.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β A secret recording of a conversation between then-candidate Donald Trump and his attorney Michael Cohen features a brief discussion of controversial Cleveland Heights pastor Darrell Scott.
On the tape, Trump confuses Scott and pastor Mark Burns, who had just become a political question mark after allegations emerged that he exaggerated his academic credentials. Scott was not without controversy himself, after he hosted a headline-grabbing rally for Trump in September 2016, which featured Don King using a racial slur during a speech.
Scott Tweeted early on Wednesday morning, though it's unclear if his message was a reference to the airing of the recording. Scott said: "The Trump campaign won the 2016 Presidential election against all odds. What do they want us to do. We ainβt givin it back. #2020HereWeCome"

The recording of Trump and Cohen's conversation was first aired by CNN on Tuesday night. Much of the discussion surrounding the tape has been focused on Trump and Cohen discussing buying the rights to the story of Karen McDougal's alleged affair with Trump. The president has denied having any knowledge of any attempts to purchase McDougal's story.

Scott continued to be seen around Trump after the election. The pastor made headlines when he suggested that Chicago gang leaders wanted to have a "summit" with the president, reportedly to discuss ending violence in the city. That summit never came to fruition.
