'Common Grounds' Brings Neighbors Together In Cleveland Heights
Several events will be held throughout the city on June 30, all designed to spark community-wide conversation.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β More than half a dozen "Common Grounds" events will be held in Cleveland Heights on June 30.
Residents are invited to attend the school district's event which will be held at Cain Park from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. The goal of that is to spark conversation on the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools and how the district is connected to residents and families.
The CH-UH Schools have partnered with the Heights Schools Foundation for this year's event. Conversation will be focused on creating equitable and engaging environments within the community.

Attendees will gather at the top of Cain Park Hill. Guests should bring a beverage or dish for the lunch time meeting.

Other Common Grounds events will be held throughout Cleveland Heights. Appletree Books, where attendees will discuss the future of the Cedar Fairmount neighborhood, will host its own event from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m.

The Coventry Building will host a conversation on education for African Americans and how to move the community forward. That event will start at 1 p.m. and continue to 3 p.m.

The Spirit Corner in Coventry Village will hold a celebration of the transformation of a vacant lot from noon to 2 p.m. During the event, there will be food, drinks and games for children. Attendees will also brainstorm the future of the Spirit Corner and how similar spaces can be created in Cleveland Heights.

The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Library on Lee Road will host a dialogue about the community. The event will be led by the North Ohio Life Members Guild of the National Council of Negro Women, Inc.

Finally, residents on Northcliffe Road can gather at a home and discuss the future of their neighborhood from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. The event is a potluck and attendees are asked to bring ideas about the future of the neighborhood.
