Daycare Shooting In Cleveland Heights, Police Chief Comments
Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said police have not yet identified a suspect in the shooting.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β Police are still trying to identify a suspect in Monday evening's shooting at a home daycare in Cleveland Heights. One woman was wounded in the gunfire, but no children were hurt.
The shooting happened Dec. 9, in the 3400 block of Hartwood. Gunshots were fired into a house on the street. There were several people inside the house at the time of the shooting, Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said.
The woman who was wounded in the gunfire was taken to a hospital where she is receiving treatment. Officers searched the neighborhood but could not find any suspects.

"As of this time, no suspects have been identified in this incident. Detectives are investigating and following up on information as it is received," Mecklenburg said. She added that the investigation is in its preliminary stages.
"I want to assure everyone that we are doing all that we can to apprehend the suspects in this incident. We have reached out to Crime Stoppers and the media to request assistance from anyone who may have information about this incident and they are offering a reward for information that leads to the arrest of a suspect," she said.

Anyone who has information about the shooting should call Cleveland Heights police at 216-321-1234. Mecklenburg said "no tip is too small."
Officers will also be on patrol in the area, so if anyone spots something suspicious they should contact police immediately, Mecklenburg said.
