Driver Who Hit 10-Year-Old With Car Turns Himself into Cleveland Heights Police

The 10-year-old was walking in a crosswalk with his 12-year-old brother at the time of the accident. The driver fled the area.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - A 10-year-old was hit by a car while walking through a crosswalk Nov. 23. The driver of the car fled the scene, but turned himself into police Nov. 28.

Cleveland Heights police say that the 10-year-old was walking with his 12-year-old brother when a vehicle going south on Lee Road blew through the marked crossing and hit the child. The driver then fled the scene. The 10-year-old had injuries to his head and legs. He was taken to a local hospital and has since been released.

Jeremy Boone, 25, turned himself in five days after the incident. He has been charged with Aggravated Vehicular Assault, a 3rd degree felony. Officers also recovered the 2007 PT Cruiser that Boone was driving.
