CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β "Ella Enchanted" will premiere at Dobama Theatre on November 30. The musical will continue its holiday run through December 30.
The production tells the story of Ella, a girl given the "gift" of obedience by a misguided fairy. That means Ella cannot disobey any order. "The strong-willed Ella goes on a quest to rid herself of this horrible curse. During her mystical adventure she encounters an evil stepmother, hungry ogres, enormous giants, a magical bird, and her best friend. Along the way, she finds her own voice," Dobama said of the show.
"Ella Enchanted" is based on the Newbery Honor novel of the same name. The Dobama show will feature "delightful music, beautiful puppets, high adventure, and plenty of girl power." The show is appropriate for ages 6 and up.
