CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Tuesday is the eighth anniversary of the death of Cleveland Heights police officer Tom Patton. He died in the line of duty on March 13, 2010. To honor his legacy and memory, the Cleveland Heights Police Department will host an End of Watch ceremony on Sunday in front of city hall at 4 p.m. The ceremony is open to family, friends and citizens.
Patton was 30-years-old when he passed away. He suffered a cardiac incident while chasing a suspect on Coventry Road, cleveland.com reported some years ago.
Patton's tragic death was made even more tragic by who he left behind. The 30-year-old was set to be married to his fiancee, Patricia Sindelar, and the mother of his 7-month-old baby. The officer was the son of State Senator Thomas Patton, of Strongsville.
