DrFameus / Thunder St. Clair / Knomatik

Ironically, drummers who are known for keeping time are known also for their inability to keep it when it comes to being punctual. While at Berklee Music School in Boston, Allen Aucoin was no exception to the late-drummer stereotype. In fact, Aucoin was infamous for being so late that a peer dubbed him DrFameus for his debacles with punctuality.

The moniker stuck and Aucoin uses it now for his electronic music project in which he dabbles in everything from breakbeats to dubstep to techno/house elements. Aucoin’s attentive nature to the crowd has enabled him to improvise and play in many diverse projects over the years. Aucoin toured with the band Skydog Gypsy until 2005 when he won a “drum off” and acquired his current position with Philadelphia electronic act, the Disco Biscuits.

Don’t use the drummer stereotype for yourself, however. You’re going to want to show up early so that you can catch openers Thunder St. Clair and Knomatik, who both bring the heat and will set the stage ablaze for headliner, DrFameus!
