RJD2

Doors 8pm  | Show 9pm

It all started with a pair of secondhand turntables bought from a friend. From DJ to producer, RJD2 has done it all. Whether you know his name because he scored the title track to television hit Mad Men or because you’ve caught Spin or Pitchfork throwing around his name makes no difference. The point is, RJD2 has the power and charisma to make a lasting career for himself. Hell, he’s been at it for more than ten years already.

In the early part of his career, he was on Bobbito Garcia’s Fondle ‘Em record label, before switching to El-P’s Definitive Jux. In 2009, RJ created his own label, RJ’s Electrical Connections. From Columbus to Philly, RJ has collaborated with some of the best (Blueprint, Aceyalone) and remixed music for notable acts such as Yo La Tengo—and he’s showing no signs of slowing down any time soon.

Currently he’s collaborating with Aaron Livingston in recent project, Icebird, but you can catch him at the Grog solo. Don’t show up in your Vader costume, though. This isn’t one of those cons you’ve heard of and he’s not the droid you’re after. But he is a damned good musician and you’re going to want to check him out.
