Extreme Heat Closes Schools Across Northeast Ohio
The heat index is in the 100s and buildings without air conditioning are closed for the day.

School districts across Northeast Ohio are closed Tuesday due to extreme heat, extending Labor Day for students in dozens and dozens of districts. Most buildings without air conditioning are shut down Tuesday.
The National Weather Service issued a heat index warning on Tuesday. "Heat index values in the upper 90s to near 100 degrees are possible today, mainly during the afternoon hours," the agency said.
Tuesday's high is projected to be about 92 degrees, but humidity and other factors will make the day feel even hotter. Storms are possible in the evening.
