Fall Leaf Collection Starts Soon In Cleveland Heights
Fall foliage is a beautiful sight in trees and a pain on the lawn. The city will start collecting leaves soon.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β Unlike other Northeast Ohio suburbs, Cleveland Heights is known for its rich tree canopy. While beautiful in the fall, the trees also cover lawns and sidewalks in leaves. To help residents, the city will start fall leaf collection on November 4.
Residents should put their loose leaves in piles on their tree lawn, the stretch of space between the street and sidewalk. Leaves should not be in the street because they can cause flooding by blocking curb inlets and contribute to slippery road conditions, the city said.
Leaf collection will run from November 4 to December 6. Crews will sweep sections of the city on a bi-weekly basis and leaves will be collected the day after regular refuse collection. A map of the collection schedule is available online.

Leaves should not be in plastic bags. Brush, tree and hedge trimmings should be cut and tied into bundles no more than 4 feet in length and 2 feet in diameter.
Yard waste, leaves and brush will not be collected between January 2 and March 27, 2020, the city said.
