Financial Reporting Award Given To Heights Schools

"...taxpayers can take pride in your commitment to accountability," said Auditor of State Dave Yost in a letter to the district.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — The Auditor of State Award with Distinction has been awarded to the Cleveland Heights-University Heights City School District. The award is given for clean and accurate financial record keeping.

District Treasurer Scott Gainer received the award on April 10 at the Board of Education meeting. It was presented to Gainer by Michelle Stys, AOS State Liaison Director.

To receive the Award with Distinction, government entities have to create a voluntary Comprehensive Annual Financial Report (CAFR) and get a "clean" audit report. The "clean" audit report indicates the school district audit did not have any findings for recovery, material citations, material weaknesses, significant deficiencies, Single Audit findings or any questioned costs.
