Frozen Chicken To Be Given To Families In Cleveland Heights
Thursday's produce pickup at Heights High has been cancelled due to supplier issues. Families can pick up frozen chicken instead.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Thursday's free produce pickup in Cleveland Heights has been cancelled. Gordon Food Services has offered to donate frozen chicken tenders to families, as a replacement for the produce.
The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools said supply chain issues caused the cancellation of the Farmers to Families produce pickup. Gordon Food Services then stepped in to aid families.
Pickup of the frozen chicken tenders will run as normally scheduled at Heights High on Thursday, from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. (or until supplies run out). Families will each receive a 10-pound box of pre-cooked, frozen chicken. The box will have two five-pound bangs of poultry. Gordon Food Services is donating 1,000 boxes for Thursday's event.

Cars should enter the high school off Washington, drive through, pop their trunk and the box will be placed inside the car by a volunteer. Families won't need any paperwork to receive the food. Families should wear masks when making the pickup.
The Heights Schools said the frozen chicken will not be placed in the backseat of cars, so trunks must be empty and able to accommodate the box.
