Glitch Disrupted State Testing At East Side Schools
Both Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights-University Heights reported being hampered by a statewide system error.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A statewide glitch disrupted several districts online testing schedule. Both Shaker Heights and Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools reported being impacted by the system error.
The glitch was not a local issue, but rather an error on the part of the state's testing company, American Institutes for Research (AIR), according to Shaker Heights Schools. Students were unable to log into the system to take the test.
The online testing outage prompted a change in how the districts plan to complete their testing. At Shaker Heights Middle School and Woodbury, testing was delayed to Thursday. A group of Shaker High students were actually able to complete the required testing before the system error took place. Students that weren't able to complete the testing will need to try again on Thursday.

The Shaker Heights elementary schools will have some of their testing postponed to next week, the district said on its website.
Meanwhile, the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Schools said that since the system error is repaired Thursday morning, testing will resume as scheduled. The only school that was directly impacted by the outage was Noble, according to a Heights Schools spokesperson.

The login glitch was repaired and AIR sent this message to schools, "The login system issue is now resolved and has been tested to confirm the fix. Districts may resume testing on Thursday, April 19. Districts are encouraged to complete their English language arts (ELA) testing within the original window. For those districts that need additional time to complete testing, the statewide ELA test window has been extended by two days, through May 1."
