'Have It All Neighborhoods' Cleveland Heights Makes List
A study from Redfin, a real estate group, says Cleveland Heights has affordable homes, an easy commute and a highly rated school system.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β Cleveland Heights has it all, at least according to a study by real estate group Redfin. A group of analysts from the company went looking for 25 cities that offered affordable housing, an easy commute and highly rated school systems. Cleveland Heights claimed the 20th spot on the list.
The website noted that Cleveland Heights had at least 71 homes for sale as of December 2017. The CHUH Schools were given a 7 rating out of what appears to be a possible 10. The city also had a good transit score of 55.1. So why was Cleveland Heights not higher on the list?
The city's crime rate. Cleveland Heights had the second highest crime rate among the 25 cities, only being outpaced by Cadillac Heights, Texas. Shaker Heights, the only other Northeast Ohio town on the list, had a crime rate of 71.

Redfin believes the trend of migration to high-cost coastal cities like San Francisco will begin to reverse in 2018, with more people looking to move to affordable, "have it all" neighborhoods. The group said cities like Shaker Heights could be in store for a major surge in population.
"The number of homes for sale nationwide has been falling for more than two straight years, and home prices in the hottest markets have risen by double digits in as much time. This has created a conundrum for homebuyers seeking a neighborhood that βhas it allββ affordable homes for sale, highly rated schools and an easy commute," Redfin said on its website.

That's why the list is primarily composed of Midwestern cities with suburbs in Cleveland, Pittsburgh and Chicago (especially Chicago) dominating the top 25. The only other Northeast Ohio city to make Redfin's list was Shaker Heights. Mount Adams, a Cincinnati suburb, was number 25.
