The Class of 2012 commences its new journey.

When members of the Class of 2012 marched to the strains of Pomp and Circumstance, they were marking their last moments as high school students. When they burst into the lobby of the State Theater, they were the district's newest crop of alumni. More than 400 students received diplomas at the graduation on Monday night.

The evening was a time of reflection and resolution. Graduation speaker Geoffrey Golden spoke of the milestones his classmates had witnessed: the election of the country's first African-American president; the debacle of LeBron James' move to Miami, and the athletic triumphs of the high school's teams. He then urged them to create a vision that would guide their actions.

But CH-UH superintendent Douglas Heuer assured the youngsters sitting in their caps and gowns that wherever they went, they would be "Tigers forever."
