Heights Libraries Receives Award For Financial Reporting
The Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - Once again, the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library has received a Certificate of Achievement for Excellence in Financial Reporting from the Government Finance Officers Association of the United States and Canada (GFOA).
The GFOA is a nonprofit professional association serving approximatly 17,500 government financel professionals.
“The award is great news for us and for the taxpayers in our community,” says Heights Libraries Director Nancy Levin. “They can rest assured we have been spending their money wisely, and will continue to do so.”

The library system received the award for its 2015 Comprehensive Annual Financial (CAFR). In the arena of governmental accounting and financial reporting, the award represents a significant accomplishment and is one of the highest forms of recognition for a group to receive.
According to Frank C. Gambosi, director of finance of the City of Bedford and local representative, past board president of the Ohio GFOA, and current member of the executive board of the national Government Finance Officers Association. “Heights Libraries’ receipt of this award reflects the professionalism, leadership, and commitment of the members of the library board, represented by President Ron Holland, as well as many hours of hard work and dedication by Director Nancy Levin, Fiscal Officer Deborah Herrmann, and Deputy Fiscal Officer Amy Gerson.”

“Less than 5 percent of all public entities in the United States and Canada receive the award,” says Gambosi, who added, “The GFOA hopes that this award to the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library will serve as an example and encourage others to strive for the same high standards in their own financial reporting.”
