Heights Libraries Say Thank You To Departing Board President

The library board also welcomed its newest member.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A familiar face on the Heights Public Libraries Board is gone, and a new face will soon appear.

Tyler McTigue has been appointed to the Heights Public Libraries board. His term will begin in January 2021.

"To say I am humbled to serve the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Library System as a Library Trustee, is an understatement,” McTigue said. “I am incredibly proud of the Heights and hope to help Heights Libraries continue to open doors for the people of our great city to diverse opportunities and ideas.”

McTigue is the director of enterprise solutions sales for Acuity Brands. He has lived in Cleveland Heights for nine years. He will serve a seven-year term on the board.

McTigue is replacing outgoing board president James Roosa, who served on the board for a decade. His term of service ended this month.

Roosa was originally appointed to the board in 2010. He was slated to finish out a three-year term for a trustee who resigned. Roosa was then re-appointed for a new, seven-year term. During his tenure, the libraries acquired the Coventry PEACE Campus, created the Heights Knowledge and Innovation Center, passed a levy in 2014, and renovated the University Heights branch.

“I will miss the opportunity to collaborate on a regular basis with all of the Board members with whom I've had the privilege of working over the last 10 years,” said Roosa, who has lived in Cleveland Heights for 20 years. “They are all incredibly committed to the Library.”

Roosa has been succeeded as board president by Dana Fluellen, who previously served as vice president and chair of the operations committee.
