Here's What's Happening In Coventry Village In April

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — The month of April will be a busy one for Coventry Village. One of Northeast Ohio's most iconic neighborhoods will celebrate Record Store Day, 4/20, Earth Day, and Independent Bookstore Day.

On April 13, Record Revolution, The Exchange, and Attenson's Coventry Antiques & Books will all have their best vinyls out for perusing. And, because it's Record Store Day, shoppers that show their receipts from one of those stores can get 10 percent off from participating Coventry merchants.

A week later, on April 20, Coventry stores and venues will celebrate 4/20. B Side Lounge will host "For Smokers Only" with DJ Corey Grand, MyNameIsBravo, Jovi, Chucky $upreme. The Grog Shop will hold a pre-4/20 party on Friday night and then hosts Eve, with Nick Stamps, on April 20.

On Earth Day, April 22, there will be a photo booth in front of the Old Big Fun storefront. Visitors can write their promises to Mother Earth, get a free reusable bag, and take part in a pop-up plant sale.

Many of Coventry's businesses have committed to sustainable practices (and can be enjoyed guilt free). Panini's, for instance, has pledged to be a sustainable restaurant.

Finally, April's events will conclude on April 27 with Independent Bookstore Day. The day's celebrations will include a major celebration at the legendary Mac's Backs Bookstore. The festivities include discounts, special releases, guests, a selfie station, snacks, raffles, exclusive merchandise, in-store music, blind date with a book and more.

“Well, I love Independent Bookstore Day because all of our customers come into the store," said Mac's owner Suzanne Degaetano. "We have special events, we have music, and special merchandise only available that day. It’s SO much fun!”

Attenson's Coventry Antiques and Books will also celebrate the day, offering 20 percent off all books in the store. Customers that shop at either Attenson's or Mac's can get a 10 percent discount at participating Coventry merchants by showing their receipts.
