Homecoming Events Coming Up In Cleveland Heights
Pep rallies, parades, football games...does anything say fall better than a homecoming football game?

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — On Friday night, the Cleveland Heights-University Heights High School Tigers will take the field for their homecoming football game. The team will be taking on the Bedford Bearcats at 7 p.m. Leading up to, and after the game, there will be plenty of community events to boost community pride.
At 2:10 p.m., the high school will put on its student pep rally. There will be a class dance-off with a local celebrity DJ and a presentation of Under Armour products to Heights football player Tyreke Smith. If it rains, the rally will be held int he competition gym. This event is for students.
The first community wide event will be the new homecoming parade, which will begin at 5:15 p.m. from Fairfax School. A parade watch party will start at 5 p.m. on the public green space at Meadowbrook, Lee Road, Tullamore. There will be games, class meet-ups and other activities. The parade will travel north on Lee Road to the corner of Tullamore. The Heights High Marching Band will lead the parade. Both community and school groups will take part in the parade.
The football game will start at 7 p.m. on Friday night. Tickets for the game are $6 for adults and $4 for students and senior citizens. Tickets will be sold until the middle of the third quarter. Attendees are asked to wear black and gold to support the team.

The Tigers are currently 1-5 on the season and will be looking for some redemption against Bedford. The Tigers will have an uphill climb against the Bearcats, who are 5-1 on the season.
Homecoming court will be announced halftime of the game.
The festivities will continue throughout the weekend. A boys and girl varsity cross country meet at 8 a.m. in Willoughby, 38588 Mentor Ave. There will also be a varsity soccer game Saturday afternoon, at 5 p.m., against Brush. It's senior night for the soccer team, so show some support for the black and gold boys.
There will also be an open house at the reopened Heights High School. From 10 a.m. to noon, there will be self-guided tours of the facility. Residents can enter through the east facing entrance of the school and walk through the building.
The student homecoming dance will be held Saturday night.
Finally, on Sunday morning, there will be a Happy 5K, 10K & 1 Mile Fun Run, which will start at 8 a.m. The race is sponsored by the City of Cleveland Heights and various local merchants. The race is for all ages and abilities, but will offer a chip-timed tracker for competitive runners.
Pets, costumes, strollers and all manners of fun are encouraged. A post-race block party will be held. Register for the event by clicking here.
