July Events Guide For Cleveland Heights

Comic book festivals, movie screenings, free concerts, and opportunities to meet local cops all abound in July.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β€” July is the pinnacle of the summer season. High heat, Independence Day, slip and slides, everything that is iconic about the second season comes out in July. Cleveland Heights will be embracing the month with a bevy of activities for resident to take part in.

There will be a series of free, family-friendly movies screen in Coventry P.E.A.C.E. Park. The screenings of the films will start at 9 p.m. with pre-film activities, including arts and crafts, starting at 8 p.m.

The Pekar Park Courtyard will also play host to a bevy of events over the summer, including a comic book festival in honor of Harvey Pekar, the regional legend and writer behind "American Splendor." The courtyard will also see free concerts twice in July. Both concerts will begin with a beer garden before music kicks-off.

  • July 15 β€” Pekar Park Comic Book Festival & Storytelling Evening, Pekar Park Courtyard, 12 p.m.
  • July 20 – Secret Life of Pets screening, Coventry Peace Park at 9 p.m.
  • July 20 β€” Meet Your Police, City Hall, lower level, 40 Severance Hall at 6 p.m
  • July 27 – Power Rangers screening, Coventry Peace Park at 9 p.m.
