'Memphis the Musical' To Open Cain Park's 80th Season

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — "Memphis the Musical" will kick-off Cain Park's 80th season on June 15. The production will have a two-week run, with closing day on July 1.

"Memphis" is a Tony Award-winning musical about a white radio DJ that wants to change the world and a black club singer that's ready for her big break. The show includes plenty of hot, roof-raising rock'n roll, to go along with laughs and soaring emotion.

Huey Calhoun will be played by Douglas F. Bailey II and Nicole Sumlin will play Felicia Farrell. Cain Park Theater's Artistic Director Joanna May Cullinan will direct "Memphis" with musical direction by Jordan Cooper.

The Cain Park Ticket Office opens June 5 at 5 p.m. Call 216-371-3000 to get tickets. Residents day at Cain Park Box Office is June 2. Walk-up ticket purchases will be available to Cleveland Heights residents only.

This year's Cain Park slate of performances will include two members of the Monkees, Arlo Guthrie, Morris Day and the Time, The O'Jays and many more acts.
