New First Aid Station for Your Ailing PC

If you own a PC and have ever longed for the personal attention Mac users get at the Apple Genius Bar, there’s a new outfit that may make you happy.

PC Handyman, co-owned by John Pierce and Charley Bach, specializes in repairing and maintaining PCs. Their services also include website design, gaming development and training classes.

“We want to be more responsive and more economical than the computer repair counters in big box stores," Pierce said. "Our average turnaround is just two days, and the average repair cost is about a hundred dollars.”

With PCs comprising 78 percent of the computers in use, there is clearly a market for PC Handyman. And the new company also offers the advantage of a secure environment for data on a computer that is left for repairs.

PC Handyman also seeks to make it as convenient as possible to work with them, as they can often do remote maintenance, in-home repair, or even pick up computers for diagnostics and repair. They are also open early (7:30 a.m.) twice a week for commuters who want to drop off their sick PC on the way to work.

Pierce and Bach decided to open shop in Cleveland Heights since they are both residents, and they wanted the jobs and revenue to remain in the city.

The grand opening of PC Handyman is scheduled for this Sunday, during the . They will have a booth on the street and interested visitors can walk upstairs and chat with the owners and staff.
