New Mayor Sworn In For Cleveland Heights
Carol Roe, a nearly 40-year resident, will serve a two-year term as mayor.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β New year, new mayor in Cleveland Heights. On Tuesday night, Cleveland Heights City Council swore in four newly elected council members and a new mayor.
Carol Roe, a 40-year resident of the city, was selected to become president of council, which also makes her the city's mayor. Under Cleveland Heights governmental rules, the president of city council serves as mayor. Roe will serve a two-year term as mayor.
Roe replaces Cheryl Stephens as mayor. Stephens will continue to serve on city council and she was sworn in for her new term on Tuesday.

Also sworn in on Tuesday were Jason Stein, Melissa Yasinow and Michael Ungar, who will be service his first full-term on city council.
Yasinow was also elected to the position of vice mayor, a two-year term.

Tuesday's city council meeting also saw the swearing in of James Costello as Cleveland Heights Municipal Judge.
