New Promotional Video Touts Cleveland Heights' Spirit, Community
A new video made by the city, called "This is Cleveland Heights," was released this week on YouTube.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β On Tuesday, Cleveland Heights was a community divided. Following a spirited campaign on Issue 26, the city's marketing team released an early cut of their new promotional video, "This is Cleveland Heights." They hope it will start to mend fences and remind residents why they love Cleveland Heights.
The video features a montage of B-roll footage from around the city. Aerial shots give a bird's eye view of the Lee Road and Cedar-Fairmount commercial districts, winding bike trails and concerts at Cain Park. A narrator tells viewers about the city's many incredible features, including its rich and diverse array of art offerings.
The video has taken more than a year to put together, according to Mary Trupo, director of communications for the city. Production started around last year's Heights Music Hop and has continued for nearly 15 months.

"Itβs been a labor of love. There are so many things people in the west side or downtown donβt know about our city. We want to share what makes Cleveland Heights great with people who live beyond our city borders," Trupo told Patch.
Which isn't to say the video is a final product. The city's marketing team is still refining the video and wants to do a better job of capturing the city's diversity. Staffers are still gathering footage and accepting footage of residents.

But the timing was right for residents to get an early look at the promotional tool...and get a reminder of why Cleveland Heights is a good place to call home.
"We thought this would be a nice time after the election to bring people together around why they are here in the city, regardless of the outcome of the election," Trupo said. "We do truly have the best interests of the city at heart. Weβre trying. We want the people here to love what they have and remind them why they came here and we want to put a positive light on who we are for people who arenβt familiar with our city," Trupo added.
