Police Stand-Off Ends Peacefully In Cleveland Heights
A stand-off on Cedar Road ended peacefully on Wednesday morning, police announced.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A SWAT situation on Cedar Road was resolved peacefully on Wednesday morning in Cleveland Heights. According to police, a man wanted by police refused to leave a house on Cedar, prompting a stand-off.
Just after 7 a.m. on Wednesday, Cleveland Heights detectives went to a home on Cedar Road, looking for a man with two felony warrants. Investigators believed the man — Steven Robinson, 35 — was staying at the house. Robinson was wanted for a probation violation and on a robbery warrant in Cleveland Heights, Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said.
When police arrived, they learned Robinson was inside the home but refused to come outside. A SWAT team was contacted and came to the home. Robinson was then found inside the basement and taken into custody, Mecklenburg said.

No one was hurt during the stand-off.
For a short time on Wednesday morning, Cedar Road was closed in both directions. The street quickly re-opened.

Robinson is now in custody at Cleveland Heights police department. Detectives are considering additional charges against Robinson.
