CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH - Cleveland Heights residents are being invited to two public meetings on the Top of the Hill development.

On Tuesday, June 25, the developer Flaherty & Collins will present the design for the Top of the Hill project to the public. The design drawings are currently being finalized and will be posted to the city's website on June 21, and will be available at Cleveland Heights City Hall and at the Noble, Coventry and Lee Road libraries.

The meeting will start at 7 p.m. and will be held at the Cleveland Heights Community Center, 1 Monticello Boulevard.

On July 9, Flaherty & Collins will then request review approval from the city's Architectural Board of Review during a public meeting, also held at the Community Center. That meeting will also start at 7 p.m.

"The City of Cleveland Heights encourages its residents and business owners to share design-related comments by email to rwong@clvhts.com no later than July 2 so that they can be forwarded to the ABR in advance of the July 9 meeting. Comments may also be made at either public meeting," the city said in an emailed statement.

City officials have long wanted to develop the property at the top of Cedar Hill, at the border of Cleveland Heights and University Circle. The development will cost approximately $84 million, and will feature 275 to 300 luxury apartments and 15,000 square feet of first-floor commercial space and 25,000 square feet of green space. There will also be a parking garage with 550 spaces.

The Top of the Hill project is currently slated to start construction during the fourth quarter of 2019, with anticipated completion of work by the first quarter of 2021.

The Cedar Fairmount Special Improvement District issued a statement in late 2018 saying it supported the Top of the Hill development. The group shared renderings of the development on its website.
