Racial Slur Spray Painted On Cleveland Heights Street
Police said the incident may be connected to a shooting which occurred earlier in August.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A racial slur was spray painted on Harvey Road on Sunday, police announced.
The graffiti was discovered at 7 a.m. on Sunday. The racial slur was spray painted in the 3400 block of Harvey. City personnel removed the spray during the day.
Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said the graffiti was likely spray painted on the street overnight. Officers are interviewing residents and reviewing the incident.

The spray painted slur comes after a house on Staunton was shot at several times. No one was home during the shooting, so no one was hurt. Mecklenburg said she is unsure if the two events are related.
"As we continue to investigate we have increased patrols in the area. We ask that anyone who may have witnessed anything to contact the police department. We also encourage residents to contact us immediately if you see any suspicious activity. We can be reached at 216-321-1234," she said in a message to the community.
