'Raisin In The Sun' Coming To Ensemble Theatre

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — The Ensemble Theatre will kick-off its 39th season with a production of "Raisin in the Sun." The show will debut Jan. 25, at the Coventry P.E.A.C.E. campus.

For those unfamiliar, the story was succinctly described by Ensemble like this: "Set on Chicago’s South Side, the plot revolves around the divergent dreams and conflicts within three generations of the Younger family: son Walter Lee, his wife Ruth, his sister Beneatha, his son Travis, and matriarch Lena. The tensions and prejudice they face form this seminal American drama. The Younger family’s heroic struggle to retain dignity in a harsh and changing world is a searing and timeless document of hope and inspiration."

The production will premiere on Jan. 25 and will run shows until Feb. 17. The opening night will feature chocolate covered strawberries, a happy hour and more. Shows will be run Friday and Saturday nights, at 8 p.m., and Sundays at 2 p.m.

Tickets range from $12 to $29 for single shows. Season passes can cost anywhere from $34 to $364. Ticket information and other details on the show can be found online, at Ensemble's website.
