Kent Man Charged with Assaulting Police Officer
TheΒ case of a Kent man charged with assaulting a police officer has been bound over for review bytheΒ Portage County grand jury.
Kent PoliceΒ charged Anthony W. Repasky, 21, of 3586 Sunnybrook Road, with assaulting a police officer, a fourth-degree felony, after an early morning incident in downtown Kent.
Police arrested Repasky just before 3 a.m. on July 7 outsideΒ Stone Tavern.

Repasky is charged with assaulting Kent Police officer Josh Nelson, according toΒ theΒ original criminal complaint filed inΒ Portage County Municipal Court.
He was released on bond July 19, and his case has since been bound over for review in Portage County Common Pleas Court byΒ theΒ grand jury, which will likely consider indictment onΒ theΒ charge.

Suspected Heroin User Found Unconscious in Gas Station Bathroom
Cuyahoga Falls policeΒ arrested Curt D. Lukens, 33, of Stow, on July 24 after officers found him passed out inΒ theΒ Sheetz gas stationΒ men's room.Police reported he was in possession of a hypodermic needle and a burnt spoon.Β
Lukens was charged with drug abuse instruments, a first-degree misdemeanor, and drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor. He was takenΒ to Summa Western Reserve Hospital.Β
Officers then spotted Lukens' friendΒ Alexis R. Hewko, 28, of Akron, inΒ theΒ parking lot,Β and found she was in possession of a burnt spoon and heroin.
Hewko was arrested andΒ charged with drug abuse, a fifth-degree felony, and drug paraphernalia, a fourth-degree misdemeanor.Β

Man With Plastic Sword Draws Police Attention, Now Faces Drug Charge
A Berkeley Road resident saw something walking down her road that made her uncomfortable: A man carrying a sword, according to aΒ Cleveland Heights PoliceΒ Department report.TheΒ woman flagged down aΒ Cleveland Heights policeΒ officer on July 26 to alertΒ theΒ officer aboutΒ thesword-weilding man.Β TheΒ policeΒ approachedΒ theΒ man.
It turns outΒ theΒ sword was just plastic, but while investigating,Β theΒ police officer discoveredΒ theΒ man had marijuana in his possession.
TheΒ man now faces a misdemeanor drug charge.

Resident Tackles Suspect in Driveway During Car Break-In
A minor drama unfolded on Idlewood Trail shortly after midnight July 26 when a resident saw someone breaking into his car.When police arrived,Β theΒ man hadΒ theΒ suspect β a 30-year-old woman β apprehended and waiting for handcuffs.
Detective Lt. John Janowski saidΒ theΒ family has a video surveillance system,Β sawΒ theΒ suspect enteringtheΒ car, and a father and son ran outside.
TheΒ dad tackledΒ theΒ suspect and held her until police arrived. He suffered a gash on his chin, but refused medical treatment.
Officers found a purse atΒ theΒ scene that had been stolen from another car on Idlewood.
That handbag was returned toΒ theΒ owner, who found a gold Gucci watch inside that did not belong to her.
She turnedΒ theΒ watchΒ over to police untilΒ theΒ owner can be found.
TheΒ suspect listed her address asΒ Metrick's MotelΒ on Pearl Road. Janowski said she faces a fifth-degree felony for allegedly stealingΒ theΒ purse, which contained credit cards, and a first-degree misdemeanor for aggravated trespass.
