See What Jennifer Lawrence Said To Heights High Students
Theactress made a surprise visit to a Cleveland Heights High School government class in January. Now we have video of that visit.
CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β In late January 2018, Jennifer Lawrence made a surprise visit to Heights High School, speaking to a government class about the influence of money in politics. The short discussion was part of Represent.Us's campaign to get cash out of American elections.
Initially, details on what was said during the discussion were scarce. Now Represent.Us has released a short video account of Lawrence's speech.
It opens with the actress anxiously addressing the class, "Hi, I'm Jen," she says. The students emit a nervous chuckle, because of course they know who she is. After talking quickly during her opening salvo, Lawrence tells the teenagers that she's sorry but she's "a little nervous."

Eventually she delves into the apolitical party status of Represent.Us. The group doesn't bill itself as Democrat or Republican. Instead, it's purely American, an organization that just wants people β not corporations β to decide the context and thrust of U.S. policy.
The speech is short and endearing in many ways. Lawrence seems disarmed but eager to chat about a cause that is clearly important to her. The students are, obviously, excited to engage her in whatever she wants to talk about because she's the most famous actress on the planet.

The full video of the classroom talk is above this article. It's short, running a little over three minutes. If nothing else, it's fun to watch the student reactions to her comments, the glassy eyed awe at the beginning morphing to something resembling understanding toward the end.
Post-discussion Lawrence stuck around and took some photos with the teenagers.
