CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — A man was shot on Antisdale Avenue in Cleveland Heights on Monday, police said. Investigators believe the man was targeted by the shooter.

The shooting happened before 11 a.m. on Monday. The man was shot in the stomach, but police said his injuries were deemed to be not life threatening. He is now out of the hospital.

"What we can say is that from our preliminary investigation we do not believe this to be a random act. We will continue to be diligently investigating and when information becomes available we will share that with everyone," Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said in a statement.

Anyone with information on the shooting is asked to call Cleveland Heights police at 216-321-1234.

"Remember to always be vigilant and aware of your surroundings no matter where you are. If you see something suspicious do not hesitate to call us. Officers will be patrolling the streets over the holidays so please call us if you need us," Mecklenburg added.
