Shot Fired By Cleveland Heights Police During Pursuit
No one was hurt during the incident and the shot did not hit the suspect.

CLEVELAND β A Cleveland Heights police officer fired his gun at a suspect that was being pursued by police on Friday morning. The shot did not hit the suspect, but the incident is being investigated by Cleveland's Use of Deadly Force investigation team.
The officer was part of a group of law enforcement agencies chasing a vehicle during a multi-agency drug operation. Ohio State Highway Patrol tried to stop a car near E. 152nd Street and Waterloo at about 10:30 a.m.. The vehicle sped off.
The car chase ended when the suspects crashed their car at the intersection of Lakeshore and Hiller. The two suspects inside the car jumped out of their vehicle and ran off. Police began chasing the suspects.

One of the suspects was found in the backyard of Schenely Avenue home. A Cleveland Heights officer fired one shot, but did not hit the suspect. The man was taken into police custody, unharmed, after the shot was fired.
The second suspect remains at-large, Cleveland Police said.

Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg confirmed the details of the incident to Patch before saying investigators were still examining the matter.
