Surveyors Could Be Coming To Cleveland Heights Doors Soon

A national survey on health and nutrition has selected Cuyahoga County as a sample site. That means surveyors will be talking to residents.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β€”Residents of Cuyahoga County will be getting some unexpected visitors over the next few months. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention and the National Center for Health Statistics are conducting an extensive survey on nutrition and health and the county has been selected for participation.

Cleveland Heights Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg posted the news on Facebook and said interviewers that approach residents will carry official CDC identification. Residents should ask to see that identification.

Surveyors will begin interviewing residents April 30. Interviews will continue through July 2, according to a letter sent to Mecklenburg. Approximately 530 people will be interviewed as part of the survey. All persons selected for the interviews are chosen randomly.

The CDC website says the interviews will take place at a resident's home. Questions will be put to a resident about themselves and their family. The benefits of participation are a little mysterious on the agency's website, but it claims participants will find out more about their health, and their family's health, "than you ever would at a routine doctor’s visit."

The agency provided a video about participation, which can be seen below.
