Teen Killed In Cleveland Heights Identified

The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office released the name of the teenager that was shot on Mayfield Road.

CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH β€”The Cuyahoga County Medical Examiner's Office identified the person killed on Mayfield Road on Monday night as Takim Brown, 17.

According to police, 911 calls about a wounded man began coming in at 9:08 p.m. Callers said a person had been shot near the intersection of Mayfield and Eddington roads.

Officers arrived on the scene and found Brown in the street on Mayfield, with a gunshot wound to his torso. Police gave him first aid until paramedics arrived and took him to University Hospital. According to the County Medical Examiner's Office, Brown was pronounced dead on Tuesday.

Investigators believe the victim was shot while in a parking lot at the corner of Mayfield and Eddington. After being shot, the man ran into the street and then collapsed.

Police said the man was shot one time. No suspects have been identified at this time. Detectives are conducting a thorough investigation, Police Chief Annette Mecklenburg said.
