CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — Tommy's is more than an iconic Coventry Village restaurant, it's also the best place to get a milkshake in Ohio, according to USA Today. The publication listed the best spot for milkshakes in all 50 states and Tommy's was the representative for the Buckeye State.

Tommy's opened its first location in 1972, at the corner of Coventry and Euclid Heights Boulevard, the restaurant's website said. At the time, Tommy's was a soda fountain that seated seven people.

It quickly outgrew its confines and moved to a new spot on Coventry in 1978. Over the decades, Tommy's has moved around Coventry and now has a location offering seats to 125 hungry customers.

Here's what USA Today said about Tommy's: "Today, in its current location, it seats 125 people and continues to produce excellent milkshakes in flavors including peach, cherry, root beer and black raspberry chip, as well as seasonal flavors. Tommy's also offers yogurt milkshakes and two flavors (chocolate and vanilla) of vegan Tofutti shakes."

The restaurant's milkshakes are so renowned that in 2017 a dying woman's last wish was to sip one last mocha milkshake from Tommy's. A package of dry ice and one $123 overnight shipping bill later and the woman's wish was fulfilled.
