CLEVELAND HEIGHTS, OH — The Top of the Hill project will begin construction in early 2020, the city announced this week. The Cleveland Heights Architectural Board of Review approved the final design drawings for the project on Thursday.

"Cleveland Heights has welcomed many new businesses to our city over the past few years, and this important development will bring more businesses and new residents to our wonderful city," said Cleveland Heights City Manager Tanisha Briley. "As the gateway to our city, I am excited to break ground next year and have even more people experience all that Cleveland Heights has to offer."

The Top of the Hill project will be located on Cedar Road and Euclid Heights Boulevard, just up the hill from University Circle. City officials have described the project as a "gateway" to Cleveland Heights and a "catalyst" for further development.

Approval from the board on the project was unanimous. This was the fourth time the board had reviewed the Top of the Hill project.

The city said the estimated $84 million project is expected to include 275 market-rate luxury apartments, up to 15,000 square feet of first-floor commercial space, up to 25,000 square feet of green space and a parking garage with 550 spaces. The project will be developed by Flaherty & Collins Properties.

The apartment complex would include a first floor co-working space, pet spa, dog park, indoor bicycle parking, a bike wash station, a fitness center, a 10th-floor pool, terrace and common space, according to Flaherty & Collins' Brandon Bogan.

"We are certainly excited to work with the Flaherty & Collins team on this important project. They have been an outstanding partner and bring years of experience and many successes in other communities from across the country," Briley said.

Officials hope the project will be completed by 2021.
