The Legal Aid Society created a comprehensive resource on civil legal issues related to COVID-19. For example, the βWhat are Tenants Rights during COVID-19?β page clarifies which properties are covered by the federal law delaying evictions, utility protections, and more. The page βWhat are Worker Rights and Benefits during COVID-19?β includes information on unemployment eligibility as well as medical leave. Legal Aid also launched a Worker Information Line to support those who have questions about their rights at work or unemployment benefits. Call 216-861-5899 and leave a message with any questions. A Legal Aid staff member will return calls weekdays between 9:00am and 5:00om within 1-2 business days.
Today we had a fire incident during our regular trash pickup. This is a reminder that combustible items are not to be placed in your regular trash collection. We were very fortunate that our public works employee was not hurt nor was the equipment damaged, and nothing else caught on fire. To review tips on proper disposal of hazards materials visit: https://www.clevelandheights.c.... Additionally, it is each resident and business ownerβs responsibility to be sure that any hot or burning item is completely extinguished before it is placed in or near the trash.
As we continue to work through this unprecedented time, I want to remind you that we are still performing all essential duties. Additionally, even though our City facilities are closed, staff is available to respond to your inquiries. You can find contact information by department here. We continue to ask for your patience as we continue to support City operations with a reduced staff.
Many thanks once again to Longwood Beauty Supply for making another donation to our first responders. This time they presented us with 120 N95 masks. We appreciate their interest in the safety of our safety forces.
