Just a reminder that tonight’s City Council Meeting and Committee of the Whole meeting are being live-streamed. Today’s City Council meeting begins at 7:30pm and will be streamed live at http://www.youtube.com/c/cityo.... The agenda can be found on the City’s website. If you have an issue you would like to bring up during the traditional public comment part of official Council meetings, please email it to Clevelandheightscouncil@clvhts.com and indicate in your message that you would like the statement shared during the meeting. Comments received by 5:00pm today will be read into the record during tonight’s meeting.

You’re also welcome to watch the Council’s Committee of the Whole meeting that will begin at 7:00pm and then we will go directly into the City Council meeting. You will use the same link noted above.

The Legal Aid Society created a comprehensive resource on civil legal issues related to COVID-19. For example, the “What are Tenants Rights during COVID-19?” page clarifies which properties are covered by the federal law delaying evictions, utility protections, and more. The page “What are Worker Rights and Benefits during COVID-19?” includes information on unemployment eligibility as well as medical leave. Legal Aid also launched a Worker Information Line to support those who have questions about their rights at work or unemployment benefits. Call 216-861-5899 and leave a message with any questions. A Legal Aid staff member will return calls weekdays between 9:00am and 5:00om within 1-2 business days.
Today we had a fire incident during our regular trash pickup. This is a reminder that combustible items are not to be placed in your regular trash collection. We were very fortunate that our public works employee was not hurt nor was the equipment damaged, and nothing else caught on fire. Additionally, it is each resident and business owner’s responsibility to be sure that any hot or burning item is completely extinguished before it is placed in or near the trash.
